- Be 15 – 18 years of age
- Meet RochesterWorks’ guidelines
- Access to pc, mac, or tablet
- Masking indoors
Position Description
Position Title: Junior Apprentice
Responsible to: Youth Education Associate
Classification/Type: Part‐time: 20 hours/week (120 HOURS), Non‐Exempt
Wage: $13.20/Hour
Hours: Weekdays, 12:30 – 4:30 pm
Role Description: Participate in job training workshops and literary arts enrichment sessions with Storyteller in Residence Almeta Whitis, inclusive of field trips to local arts‐and‐culture sites. Independently complete assignments between workshops. Intern in one of four Writers & Books departments to practice newly acquired skills and learn others.
Job Skills Workshops: Financial and computer literacy, sexual harassment training, graphic design, resume building, research, expository and creative writing, discussion
Literary Arts Enrichment: Weekly 3-hour creativity workshops
Internship in one of four Writers & Books’ Departments: Youth Education, Adult Programs, Marketing, Development
