Sakshi is a writer and poet who earned her Masters in English from The University of Rochester and her Bachelors in English from SUNY Geneseo. She interned with Writers & Books in summer 2022, and is overjoyed to return full time as Adult Programs Coordinator as of September 2023. Outside of her work at Writers & Books, she serves as a poetry reader for the literary magazine Bodega.

Amanda comes to us with a Communications and Development background in the nonprofit arts. Locally, they have worked at Flower City Arts and the Visual Studies Workshop. With an MFA from the Visual Studies Workshop and a Certificate in Arts Management, they are a founder of Roc Arts United and, with Jeanne Strazzabosco, curator of In This Moment Chapbook series. They have served as Adjunct Lecturer at St. John Fisher University and at SUNY Geneseo, where they also have been employed as Interim Coordinator of Multicultural Affairs. They have received awards from the Public Art Equity Project (Rochester, 2023), Genesee Valley Arts Grant ( 2019), and Strokosh Fellowship, Alliance of Artist Communities (2016).

Jeanne is a retired French teacher from Pittsford Schools. As a teacher leader, she created and implemented staff development around diversity, equity and inclusion, the effects of implicit bias, the importance of representation, and how to teach with the introvert in mind. She co-created and continues to coordinate the In This Moment: Revolution Reckoning Reparation Chapbook Series, published by VSW Press. Previously, Jeanne was Coordinator of Membership and Development at the Visual Studies Workshop and served on the YMCA of Greater Rochester’s Task Force for Mission-Critical City Services. She has a Master Certificate in Art Administration, an MA in Pastoral Studies, and an MA in Liberal Studies. She is the author of several books, published through the Young Adults Rosen Publishing Group.

After serving as a SummerWrite Apprentice (2023), Zoë is thrilled to continue as a member of the Writers and Books team. She is a passionate reader and writer and a rising fourth year student at the University of Rochester, pursuing degrees in History and English: Creative Writing as an honors student and Lasch Scholar.

After participating in SummerWrite camps as a child, volunteering at Writers & Books, and serving as a SummerWrite intern, Lily was thrilled to begin working at Ampersand Books as Bookstore & Visitor Services Associate in 2022. With a degree in Communication from Houghton College (2017), she is most passionate about making reading accessible for everyone and helping them find a story they will love.
