Sakshi Kumar

Sakshi Kumar graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 2019 with a BA in English literature. She is currently a master’s student at The University of Rochester where she studies English literature and is working on her MA thesis. Sakshi also serves as a poetry reader for Bodega, a monthly digital magazine. Her poetry has been published in The Wax Paper.

Tatiana Colon

Tatiana graduated from St. John Fisher College in May 2021 with a degree in English and Spanish. She is an emerging writer who has published one short story and runs a book review blog.

Briar-Rose Murphy

A former SummerWrite student, Briar is thrilled to join the Writers & Books team. A graduate of Nazareth College with degrees in French and Theatre Arts, her plays have been produced at the 2018 Rochester Fringe Festival and Everyone’s Theatre Company’s 2019 Night of One Acts. After spending two years in France as an English Language Assistant through the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF), she is excited to be back in Rochester helping to support a program that encourages young readers and writers to explore their creative powers.

Sophia Haase

Sophia is a rising junior at Marist College, where she majors in digital media with a concentration in graphic design and a minor in art history. During the 2022-23 academic year, she will continue her studies in digital media, as well as work in the Marist College Art Gallery.

Verónica Cisneros

Verónica joins us through the Humanities for Life internship sponsored by the University of Rochester, where she majors in English Literature and concentrates in Latin American Studies through the Take 5 program. During the academic year, she works as a student assistant for the Rush Rhees Library, including in the historical Rare Books department.
