Writers & Books staff has been working behind the scenes for the past two years with engineers from Apple to perfect a software program that allows anyone to finally write “The Great American Novel.”
For over 200 years some of the best writers this nation has ever produced have struggled to write that one book that captures the heart and soul of the American experience, in all its myriad complexities. Some esteemed critics in the hallowed halls of Academe would say not one of them has achieved that goal. But now, thanks to modern technology, Apple’s software gurus, and the knowledgeable staff at Writers & Books, anyone can write that novel within minutes.
Here’s how it works. Download the iNovel app to your smart phone, tablet or computer, (available at the iTunes store for $1.99), open it and you will then be prompted to begin a conversation with Siri. She will ask you questions about characters, setting, and length of the novel, and within seconds the novel will be downloaded to your device. One caveat to be aware of: if the novel becomes a best-seller, Siri will receive 10% of the royalties.
Future updates will include style packs, allowing you to write a novel in the style of an already great author such as Vonnegut, Hemingway, Palahniuk, etc.
This new software will be available for download beginning April 1, 2014.
