Writers ROC!

Free and open to the public
Ages 10-12

Writers Roc! provides virtual space where tweens gather to imagine, write, share work, and hone skills. Under the guidance of Monroe Community College creative writing major Misty Yarnall, participants engage with prompts and absorb tips for revising and editing. Interactive sessions are conducted via Zoom.

Misty Yarnall‘s flash fiction has been published in Gandy Dancer, SUNY Geneseo’s literary magazine. Her play “Santa Doesn’t Smoke” was a GEVA Theatre/Writers & Books’ 2 Pages/2 Voices Competition selection in 2020. She has served as a SummerWrite apprentice and intern, and currently works as a Visitor Services Associate at Writers & Books.

Writers ROC! runs during the academic year, September – May. Please check back in late August for fall workshop dates.
